"This is Me"- Hidden in full view project-(Circular) Contemporary expressive Portrait
Original Artwork- Acrylic and charcoal on circular ply board.
please note there is a small scratch on the light green area that occurred during storage. this will be colour matched and will be hardly visible- but as it is plywood there will be a small indent. This does not affect the overall feel of the painting but Flo wanted it pointed out prior to purchase
This is the first Artwork in Flo’s project “Hidden in Full view”- it was actually initially inspired by the television programme “Behind the Mask”- where people who would not normally feel confident enough or be more inhibited about singing, or where professional singers would fell more free to sing different songs in front of people, suddenly felt more liberated because their physical appearance was concealed.
Flo will be hosting an open call, where people can take part in this project and be sent random props to use to pose with. It will be a great opportunity to have a portrait painted, but to also see what impact a prop, some makeup or piece of clothing has upon the individuals experience.
In this artwork Flo is wearing a funny pair of glasses, and they appeared in the original artwork titled “Hidden in full view”- Flo dislikes having her photograph taken, despite loving painting portraits-but found it easy to pose multiple times for this painting purely because of a random prop. The glasses represent far more for Flo as well though, as although they would be considered humorous,on both occasions Flo has worn them for paintings- her emotions have been quite the opposite.
Expressive contemporary portrait using Flo’s trademark unfinished is finished look, and lots of lovely visible brushstrokes.
It is painted on ply board measuring approximately 50cm diameter 9mm deep. The artwork is not framed, and does not necessarily need framing.
The Artwork is hand signed by the Artist.
